Steinway Artist Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white-hot” (Sarasota Tribune) and “strong” (The New York Times). She has appeared as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe at venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, 92nd Street Y, Tenry Cultural Institute and Steinway Hall (New York City); Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Austria); Centro de Bellas Artes and Museo del Arte (Puerto Rico); Harris Hall (Aspen); Sarasota Opera House (Sarasota); and the National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Bulgaria). She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television, including WQXR, WITF, WPRB and Bulgarian National Television. Additionally, Ms. Tachkova has been recording extensively for Steinway Spirio and has two critically acclaimed chamber music CDs that have been released by MSR records. Currently, she is on the piano faculty at the 92nd Street Y School of Music in New York City, where she is also the founder and the co-director of the Summer Keyboard Institute. Tania Tachkova holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance from Stony Brook University.
