Eduardo Caballero

Composer originally from Monterrey NL Mexico. His artistic development is divided between composer of both acoustic and electroacoustic music and director of ensembles and orchestras. He is the titular director of Ensamble Noodus, a group dedicated to the promotion and diffusion of music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

He studied postgraduate (MFA) composition at the Vermont College of Fine Arts with his tutors John Mallia and Roger Zahab, studied the degree in Guitar at the School of Music and Dance of Monterrey with Jesús Quiroz and Pedro Salcedo ( 1994-2003), in the same institution studies composition with teachers Ramiro Luis Guerra and José Luis Wario (1994-2003)

He studied composition at the Composers Center of Nuevo León (2001-2005) taking classes with teachers: Víctor Rasgado, Emmanuel Nunes, Hebert Vazquez, José Luis Castillo, German Romero, among others, IMPULS-Ensamble Academie Composition Class in Graz Austria 2005) taking classes with Beat Furrer and Bernhard Lang at Hige Melton University Center Doncaster UK taking electroacoustics classes with Rob Worby at the Mexican Center for Music and Sound Arts CMMAS (2009-20013) studying electroacoustic composition with Rodrigo Sigal, Joao Pedro Oliveira and Francisco Colasanto, at the University of California Santa Cruz campus at the WACM 2011 Workshop in Algorithmic Computer Music studying with David Cope and Daniel Brown. INJUVE Composers Meeting (2001, 2002, 2004 and 2008) in Mollina-Málaga Spain, taking classes with Cristóbal Halfter, Mauricio Sotelo, Beat Furrer, Mauricio López-López, Yan Maresz and Luca Francesconi.

Artist in residence at Millay Colony of the Arts (New York), Djerassi Resident Artists Program (California), LIPM Research and Production Laboratory (Buenos Aires) and at the Mexican Center for Music and Sound Arts CMMAS.

A obtained the following awards: Finalist at ALEA III International Composition Competition 2015, Boston USA. Finalist of the Composition Competition N.E.O.N. Nevada Encounters Of New Music 2009. University of Nevada, Las Vegas (USA). Winner of the National Composition Contest Ensemble Intercontemporain, 2007 FORUM of UNESCO cultures. Isabel Padro and Valiente Felow for 2006, Members of Patron’s Circle of New York United States. Winner of the Composition Competition of the II International Contemporary Music Festival of Morelia 2005. Winner of the 1st Composition Contest of the New Music Festival 2005 in Monterrey. First Place in the Composition Competition for Guitar “III Guitars Festival without frontiers” Chihuahua, Chihuahua 2005. Honorable Mention in the Composition Contest of the II Guitarra Sin Fronteras Festival in Chihuahua 2003.
